Valldemossa
Valldemossa is a village in the hills of Serra de Tramuntana in Mallorca, with a population of 2000 in 2023. The reason to visit is its 14th century Charterhouse, which has been a palace, monastery, secular accommodation and now a museum.

Valldemossa is a village in the hills of Serra de Tramuntana in Mallorca, with a population of 2000 in 2023. The reason to visit is its 14th century Charterhouse, which has been a palace, monastery, secular accommodation and now a museum. George Sand stayed there with Frédéric Chopin and wrote an uncomplimentary travel novel, Un hiver à Majorque, "A Winter in Majorca". Warmer in his words was Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria, who became a champion for Mallorca wildlife, and settled in nearby Deià.
